What is Cyclospora and Cyclosporiasis?

Cyclospora is a parasite that can cause the intestinal illness Cyclosporiasis. Del Monte Parasite Outbreak.

Del Monte announced the voluntary recall of 6 oz., 12 oz. and 28 oz. vegetable trays containing fresh broccoli, cauliflower, celery sticks, carrots, and dill dip sold at Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Demond’s, Sentry, Potash, Meehan’s, Country Market, FoodMax Supermarket and Peapod retail locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The vegetable trays have a “Best If Enjoyed By” date of June 17, 2018 or earlier. Del Monte was notified by state agencies of the outbreak and its potential involvement and has recalled all of the contaminated products.
